6U-- Over thrown ball at first base is an immediate dead ball.

6U-- No more than 5 runs per inning. The game will end when a team is mathematically eliminated or time has expired. A game can end in a tie.
Time Limit: 1 hour 20 minutes, no new inning after 1 hour 15 minutes.
Exception: End of Season Tournament.

6U— A player cannot play pitcher, 1st, or shortstop more than twice in one game.

6U— Up to three (3) coaches are allowed on the field during defense. The coaches must be positioned behind the outfielders during a live ball.
Penalty: Delayed dead ball, option to Offensive team to either keep the play as is or to negate the last pitch.

6U— An Offensive player will receive five (5) pitches, to include ball being placed on tee, before being declared out.
Exceptions: If the fifth (5th) pitch is fouled, umpire's discretion, the batter may continue to bat.

8U-- No more than 7 runs per inning. The game will end when a team is mathematically eliminated or time has expired. A game can end in a tie.
Time Limit: 1 hour 30 minutes, no new inning after 1 hour 25 minutes.
Exception: End of Season Tournament.

8U— Two (2) coaches are allowed on defense. The coaches will remain in foul territory down each foul line either even or behind the outfielders.
Penalty: Delayed dead ball, option to Offensive team to either keep the play as is or to negate the last pitch.

10U-- Pitch count for Fall is 65 pitches. A pitcher cannot pitch more than 3 innings in a single game. Pitcher can finish current batter if pitch count is reached during the at bat.

10U-- Pitch count in Spring is 45 pitches before Spring Break and 65 pitches after Spring Break. A pitcher cannot pitch more than 3 innings in a single game. Pitcher can finish current batter if pitch count is reached during the at bat.

10U-- No more than 7 runs per inning. The game will end when a team is mathematically eliminated or time has expired.
Time Limit: 1 hour 45 minutes, no new inning after 1 hour 40 minutes. If game ends in a tie, one inning with the California rule will be in place.

12U-- Pitch count for Fall is 75 pitches. A pitcher cannot pitch more than 3 innings in a single game. Pitcher can finish current batter if pitch count is reached during the at bat.


12U-- Pitch count in Spring is 55 pitches before Spring Break and 75 pitches after Spring Break. A pitcher cannot pitch more than 3 innings in a single game. Pitcher can finish current batter if pitch count is reached during the at bat.

12U-- Game will end when one team is ahead by 10 runs after 4 innings or 8 runs after 5 innings.
Time Limit: 1 hour 45 minutes, no new inning after 1 hour 40 minutes. If game ends in a tie, one inning with the California rule will be in place.

12U-- For Fall one (1) warning per pitcher for balks.

12U-- For Spring one (1) warning per pitcher for balks before Spring Break and there are no warnings after Spring Break.

All ages—Teams may start the game and play with eight (8) players. If for any reason a team’s number of players falls below eight (8) the game will be declared a forfeit by the team with less than eight (8) players. In 6U and 8U if a team(s) only have eight (8) players they may elect not to have a catcher.

End of the season tournament for 10U/12U will be Dizzy Dean pitching rules.

Time Limits:
6U-   One Hour Twenty Minutes (1:20)
8U-   One Hour Thirty Minutes   (1:30)
10U- One Hour Forty-Five Minutes  (1:45)
12U- One Hour Forty-Five Minutes  (1:45)

6U/8U- Must wear chinstraps on the batting helmet



All other rules will be followed as set forth in the Official Rules of Dizzy Dean Baseball or MLB Official Baseball Rules.
